The M249 is a so-called LMG - Light Machine Gun , which has a very high rate of fire and has been produced since 1984 in various designs until today and used in many armies worldwide.

Like the original, the S & T STAEG103 M249 Para AEG Airsoft replica of the LMG M249 in the short Para version has a fully automatic electric firing drive as well as a highly reliable V2 metal gearbox with quick spring change system and a performance of 380 fps / 1.33 Joule .

The LMG is mostly made of robust hi-tech polymer . Despite the focus on cost savings, S & T attaches great importance to high-quality workmanship .

The use of high-impact high- tech polymer instead of metal for the main external components means a high cost saving, which is passed on directly to the customer. Uncompromising metal internals value this extremely lightweight replica as the most competitive AEG for action-packed games.

The shaft and the bipod are adjustable and can be individually adapted to the shooter. The barrel with 363 mm length and 6.08 mm diameter guarantees best results for a LMG.

Under the barrel there is enough space for a 9.6V Nunchuck NiMh or 7.4V LiPo battery (each max 25mm diameter). The fact that the handguard must be removed for this is not a big problem, because you can remove it with a fast ejection system without tools and assemble it again.

The LMG is the perfect choice for support fire while maintaining high maneuverability and maneuverability .

Experienced support gunners will soon see no difference to a normal assault rifle in terms of weight and length, but still provide far more supportive firepower.
